Wink WARRANTY RECALLS

Hello peeps I was just wondering how many 964 owners have had sorted the warranty recalls issues on their cars, I have a 1990 C2 Convertible manual LHD from California imported into the UK. The car has been in Storage for over 10 years and is getting work done to get it street ready. I noticed when enquiring with OPC that I have outstanding recalls on the car.

I am hesitant in giving it to the OPC as he remarked it would be nice to see a classic because they have only been opened since 1998 and never sold any 964's lol and never really worked on them that much because customers went to independant specialists after their warranty expired lol.

I was just curious how many people resolve the warranty issues in-house as some of them are simple fixes like the rear blower heater resistor ?

My car has only done 55,000 miles so it has no service history for the ten years it was mothballed.. I guess this will be an issue when I sell it that is if I ever do decide to sell

Is Porsche-UK paying for the work? If so let them sort it, if not, you'd be much better off at an Indie.
The rear blower resistor is a 30 minute $50 job assuming you still have the old one, which is rare.

Did he provide you a list of what was still outstanding?

PORSCHE will pay for all the work as it is safety recalls, I guess I will hand them the car. Just hope that they have a senior technician who understands 964 cars lol even OPC can leave things loose/broken/ etc. I haveseen many cases where mechanics are under pressure to complete jobs with in the time cards. The results be a rushed below par job and when you complain the OPC will put some Bimbo in front of you who will try to convince you your car was already in that state to begin with lol.. I normally prefer doing jobs my self or at least watching the mechanic do the work. I know that can be **** but I have seen the botch jobs that some mechanics do behind closed doors.
