Default Leather seat cover recommendations?

Has anyone out there purchased leather seat covers?

I would like to cover my own, or have them covered locally. A client of mine has a tenant who recovers auto interiors with pre-sewn covers, and they do beautiful work.

I've seen ads for a pair of full leather covers that range from about $300 to $1500+ US. There are some in the $600 - $700 range, such as:
They say they are made form "German" leather and have perforations in the insets, and they appear to match my standard Cashmere color seats.

I'm not in the $1500 price range right now, or I would buy a good used set of seats and refinish them if necessary. However, if no one has a good recommendation for a source in my price range, I'll wait until I have the money to do it "right".

Any personal experiences, anyone?

I've used the Auto's International leather seat covers for a 356 before and they were absolutely perfect. I assume their 911 covers would be of equal quality, since Porsche interiors is all they do. Their website lists 911 front seat cover in leather for $513. I assume this is just one, since it does not say "pair". Their vinyl is half that.

Maybe too pricey, but IMO these covers are the standard to judge by.

What he said. Ask for a sample of leather to check color; they might even have a dead match plastic for the rears.

They have some long splits above the normal heavy bolster wear areas. They may be repairable, but I really want new material.

I'm familiar with AI through their 20 years of advertising in Excellence. I actaully contacted them about 3 years ago when I first started thinking about this. They sent me samples and one was a perfect match. I thought they may be the standard to measure by, which you guys are confirming, but I was hoping some of those at 40% less cost might be a close second.

If I don't get another recommendation for a cheaper option, I'll save my pennies and go with AI. I certainly don't want to make a mistake on something so important as seats.
