Hey Brian, when I was driving through Indiana on my way back home Friday, I was thinking about the last 911 road trip that took me through your state and how much fun my wife and I had meeting up with you and the other guys.

Exactly Jim. I was thinking the same thing when you mentioned you drove the car from Chicago back to DC. The 964 will be a little more civilized to do road trips in compared with the Aubergine early 911. Sure did like that car though.

great looking car, congrats.
you just beat me too it....the owner told me he had taken a deposit and was awaiting final pickup/payment when i called.
although i hope you enjoy for many many years in good health, please keep me in mind if your situation ever dictates a sale.

I heard from the seller that there was some local interest in this car, speedbagger. I'm glad I jumped on it, but, I am sorry you missed out on a car you were interested in. I hope another good one pops up on the market for you soon.
Black930, I'm resisting the urge to mod it. My last car, the 73E, was significantly modified and I know first hand how slippery that slope can be. This car is really in great condition and I know I'm going to be happy with it the way it is. Perhaps someday when I feel the suspension is getting tired, I might upgrade it, lower the car to the Euro ride height, and move to 17" wheels. But, that's probably quite a ways off.

^and that would be my reservation w/ getting too nice of a car. My auto enthusiast conscious would kick in and I'd feel guilty about messing w/ such a pristine example of Porsche history.
Hopefully I can find a solid, well maintained car that isn't perfect/rare to the point I'll feel bad about making it my own.
