Default 964 vs 993 Axle Stubs

I'm rebuilding my rear axles on my C2. Does anyone know if the axle stub on a 964 is the same as a 993. One of my axle stubs has gouges and I'm looking for a replacement. Yes I had the outer cup lathed off and had screws tapped so I could polish and repack the cv's correctly.

Thanks
Joser

Joser,

993 & 964 rear stub axles are different and not interchangeable.

993 has 48 teeth on the ABS ring and 964 has 45 teeth.

Geoffrey,
The ABS teeth are on the driveshaft flange, not the stub axle which is pressed through the wheelbearing from the outside.

Yes, I agree, the abs ring is part of the stub axle.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Would the 993 drive shafts fit in all other aspects other than the ABS ring?

I’m looking to get 48teeth for my new ABS and the 993 shafts have that.
