Default split grill for a 964

Anyone ever see a split grill for a 964 ?

I like the look but have never seen one for a 964.

Thought crossed my mind. Interesting question, what about a one-off?

yeah. mine is black. It gives the car a little cleaner look IMO. Especially without any badge on the lid.

Isn't your car black anyway Thomas? I would have thought you wouldn't notice much difference then?

yes, but it's a bigger difference than you think because the flat black paint looks more dark grey, especially after 20 years so it makes a difference if you look at two cars standing beside each other.

Ooooh. I like that Frank! I've been looking for a 964 with a split grill. Even thought of getting one fabbed up for mine. Anymore details on how that was achieved?

That is nice...I was trying to figure if a 993 split grill would fit or if there were any aftermarket...I would love to see details

"...the strip is simply a piece of wood, painted with red gloss enamel. I tried it with wurth silver paint first and it didn't look right so used red. I might try black as well."

that last pic is actually a black metal bar cut to fit the dremeled slot in the grill. I like that better than the red. Might play around with making the bar larger..might not. For now it was fun and I like the look.

I have been thinking about something like the 993 split grill for my car. Neither the pop up grill nor the 993 decklid will fit. So my next thought was a SWB decklid. Hinges would need to be changed. R style grill seemed appropriate with R style hinges. Still in mockup stage.
