Three Wheelin'
I just built this about 3 years ago, Aside from the site work and the actual structure My wife and I did all the work. I wanted the Fancy floor, Office, TV Surround sound, But I am a Do-it- all Kinda guy so this needed to be a Working garage where I can fabricate, paint, Ect. So far ive painted about 5 cars in it and aside from getting clear-coat over spray on the floor, I have managed to keep it just as nice as the day I built it. I wired the shop for surround sound Hid all the wires in the wall before I did the drywall. It is 48x38 and it is heated and air conditioned. I have natural gas and I insulated the heck out of it. Even when it is 0- 10 degreesF here some months its only about 60 bucks extra to keep it at 60F and when Im working in there at night about 65... The TV is hooked up to the surround sound and is mounted on a fabricated swivel so I can swing the TV around and watch it from the Futon or through the glass that I installed in the wall so I can see it from the Lift area. The Top of the office is 2x8's so I could store heavy motors up there and I made doors on the front of the rafters so I could slide my stainless tubing in there for ex work or whatever... I used some "gridwall" and Custom made "slatwall" (store display racking" I used 5 inch centers instead of 3 inch centers... The paint area has anchor pots in the floor for frame straightening as well. I had a custom curtain made with a filter in it. I kept all the floor level so I can measure suspension stuff. I was going to put in a "Drive on" lift to stack the cars but they are just too bulky. I Made my own stacker out of stainless steel and when I dont want it around I can easily toss it in the woods and free up space. Then bring it back in in the fall. Hope this gives you some ideas. ...
