On the flipside, If you do end up hunting this kind of power, be sure and document it thoroughly on here. Of all the guys that have gone into the 300hp+ range, it seems like none of them have/want to post much about the work they did to get there.
All I've got of the M3 are these terrible ones from like February, lol. I don't get to drive it as much as I wish I did (its in VA while I'm in Pittsburgh throughout the week and some weekends) but its all done now, so please excuse the mess of wiring and such in the engine bay

Eman123 - Yeah thats best of both worlds but funds do not permit me to keep both. The M5 was not a dd, so if I have the 964, they will be both weekend cars! My other weekend toy is a Ducati 998. Not enough garage space too.
ChaseN - Was the drop-in a DIY? Boy, you must be skilled! Noticed the tight space. Fan delete etc.

Yeah, DIY. Skill is a relative term - I prefer 'dumb enough to try it myself'. Tight space would describe it well...you can slide about 3 pieces of paper stacked between the back of the cylinder head & the firewall

Seems like the E30 M3/964 is a pretty common combination, I've got the same garage. Although I still have the S14 in my track car

Judging by some of the reactions I've had of my car at BMW gtg's you'd think I shot the pope. On the other hand, some people slober on it and have offered me their BMW + fist born daughter in trade for it. It's definitely a polarizing swap, and I'm firmly entrenched in the 'love it' camp. It turns the M3 from a quick all around balanced car, to a monster... nothing wrong with the s14 though, I just wanted something different out of it. That's all.

Motec, cams, ported heads, pistons + headers = 350hp with 7000rpm limit, Geoffrey's done one of these 9m conversions in the US for Mark and it made 310 at the wheels. It will cost around $15-20k USD or £12-15k UKP depending on which exhaust you decide to buy. Oh, and you need a 964RS lwf kit as well, this will be another £900 or so.
I just love my 964, but would like a bit more punch without going the turbo-route..

Only problem will be in providing you with refurbished & ported heads, you would either have to send me yours to rework or dig deeper in the pocket and buy a set of 9m billet heads instead - final decision on this will be when you strip the engine & find out if your heads are serviceable or not, usual problem are broken ceramic liners in the exhaust ports.
