Default What are the wire numbers in wiring diags?

I see little numbers for the wires themselves ( 4.0, 0.75, 2.0, etc.) and they are obviously not gauges because the 0.75 is way smaller than the 2.0. Are these diameters in millimeters or something?

as usual - you DA MAN Geoffrey!

one other quick question, as I am disconnecting pins from T30...

Can I just completely disconnect all alarm-related wiring? I notice there is one going to the alternator in the engine harness. I wouldn't be surprised if there was one going to DME and central informer also, but that alternator one is concerning...

The alternator would only be supplying 12v to the alarm system through terminal 61 (alternator excite wire). I do know the alarm control unit is inline prior to the DME relay and if you remove the alarm system, you'll need to bypass that circuitry. In a 1990 car, it would be in the trunk on the pass side near the hinge.
