Norm, I'm so impressed with your project, your attention to detail (as has been mentioned by others previously) is fantastic!

What is involved in the ceramic polishing? I just did machine polish on my BBS wheels. Does this finish hold up better? The germans do a hochglanzverdichtung: Hochglanzverdichten - YouTube pretty cool.

Is Andy the same Andy that does work for 9M? Is he not associated with Sounthbound Trimmers?

Can't wait to see the final product
With ceramic polishing is when you place an object such as a wheel in a barrel that contains smooth ceramic pellets of different grade on different stages. So the pellets may start of larger in the size of a 20pence piece, then smaller and smaller pellets until you end up using smaller than a pea little ceramic *****. The pellets will vibrate for many hours at the same time a solution is sprayed on the ceramic *****.

The technique is only mastered by those who know the quality of metal on these cast, aluminum, billet, forge wheels and the timing with the vibrations per hour, the right solution and the right size pellets.

Then machine polished for a final stage, to take off any edges or any imperfections.

Here is a set of BBS RS 5x130 17" center trial and tested for Amazon, fully ceramic polished.

Yes Carnewel have stock of everything from new seals to dishes and full sets of wheels.

Yes your right Andy has done a lot of 9M project cars, so he is not strange to any Porsche trim. No he has nothing to do with Southbound.

He is A1 and so is MJ Interiors, who has a great connections with Andy and Southbound. Both started out life trimming Volkswagen aircooled and watercool.

These E88 are lovely, a lot stronger with Aluminum centers and great for road use too all year round. But I find the spokes have a indentation on them, not look as smooth as the E28s.

What do you think to these? The wheels kindly 'sponsored' by the guys at Fifteen52 - Matt & Brad in the US http://fifteen52.us the same guys who help develop Ken Block's Ford Fiesta, the New Volkswagen Beetle Turbo at SEMA, etc.

Yes specially made for Amazon in 5x130 with nice offsets. Will get some more photos and spec. These would work a treat as a 5 spoke within keeping of the natural 5spoke cup 1 wheel look.

Was about to comment on these sitting on the floor next to the E28s on the last page... Would love to see them on the maritime blue to get the full picture. I'm sure the E28s will look more period correct and would probably be my personal preference, but the white wheels would look very tough, especially if the ride height is super low

Fantastic thread! Just read through it from page 1, and I really look forward to see the end result.

If I have understood it correctly, you currently have 4 964’s? If so, it would be great to see them together in some pictures in this thread.

The update so far. Part of the interior trim is in, everything seems to slot into place. Still odd bits we are working out how to make functional unlike the RS NGT. Such as the side vents
