Default Hello from Italy!

Hello everybody!

I am from Italy and I am thinking to do a "special" 911...

I found your forum and I am surprised! It is great!

I see many interesting projects, and... I will need your help, if you like, to "define" mine.

My first question is: is it possible to move the intercooler on a 964T in order to avoid having the huge fixed spoiler and run with a standard one?

I have in mind a retro look and... fixed spoiler is not the one to have...

Second question: do you think it is possible to do a speedster conversion from a 964 cab, keeping availabe for my daugther the rear seats?

Just in case I will decide for a "open air" toy...

Thanks in advance and... last question: do you prefer orange or slate grey?

for the 2nd question, yes speedster conversion is very do able, but only without rear seats (that space is taken up by folding top & clamshell)

in respect to your 1st question, what are you after....performance of the turbo series, or widebody style??
if its the widebody look you are after, in a 964 series that can be had with that is 94 C4 for a coupe.

another option...not quite a speedster, but a great look in a widebody car and it will give you rear seats in a cab, is the WTL cab (werks turbolook)... - it also has the advantage of having the same suspension and oversize brakes & wheels from the turbo edition.

If you use an air to water intercooler ?

You could tuck the radiators in the rear fenders ?

Hello everybody and thanks for the welcome!

I am still thinking what to do with my project...

The basic idea is to have a unique Porsche, something very special.

These are the priorities;

a) must be convertible.
b) must have 2+2 seats. I want to use it with my wife and daughter also
c) must be wide body
d) retro look or not... still thinking

The idea came in my mind when I saw the Singer 911... I would like something like that but convertible!

I think the best is to start from a 964 C2 (the most "modern" 911 that I think can be retro look modify without crazy things).

Moreover, here in Italy, costs for insurance and taxes are very high, and with my job, I have really no so much time to drive it... I don't want to spend a fortune to maintain a toy that I can use just few time a year and a 964 made in 1991 can be "historical" in few month, it means insurance and taxes very low.

On top of this, my dream is to do something that became my "forever" Porsche...

For example, as long as my daughter is young, I can keep it cab, may be in 10 years, when she will prefer to spend her week end with friends, then I can modify it as a Speedster (I love the Speedster line of the windscreen and soft top!)

The perfect donor car would be a 964 wide body cab (better if not original... because cheaper!)

I will try to do some photoshop (I must find somebody that help me, because I have no idea of how it works...) starting from the Singer 911 and adding a cab top.

Then I think it will be easier to understand if orange or slate grey is better.

Thanks again for the suggestion, and if somebody here knows a 964 cab wide body... please let me know!

Ciao

PS for people interested in MotoGP... my favorite rider is Casey!

Does it have to be left hand drive? This would be a perfect donor car for you: widebody conversion, cab, cheap price due to colour (which you could get re-painted)
