Does a 964 EVER come without You putting in too much money in it looking in from the outside world...
Doug, what is the aim of the car? Go buy icecream in it, trackoriented or daily driver? Do You need to do everything at once, can´t You live with a few issues? Everthing must not be done at once, though I can understand if You depend on the car for everyday use....
I rather not think about at all how much put down in the car in $ or time. The time is just therapy, right?
The $ is in any case not an investment

I never said I need to part her out. I was / am just looking at options. But thank you all for caring so much to give me three pages of advice for a (fairly) simple question.

FWIW the car was supposed to be a "toy", but with as much as I've spent it will likely be called into daily driver status soon (Julie has volunteered to sell her Forester and drive "my" Subie instead). Not what I wanted to do, but there it is.

So big question now, can Julie live with a few issues on it and it will still work as a good daily driver?

Well I would be driving the C4 and she would drive "my" Subie. But to your question, I'm sure she'd be fine with it. She might even like it. I'm very curious to see what she thinks of driving this thing....

Hi Doug, kinda watched the whole process you went through to get the car. I wish I was closer I would help you do some of the DYI's that are needed then decide a Project Plan essentially for the car so you can budget both time and money.
Mine's a 91' C2 tipy, first 964 and IAH didn't realize the difference until I started doing research and maintenance. I bought her in November 09 and kinda developed a what needs to be done list, a want to be done list, and an oh s@%t now this is broken fund which saved me when my pads decided that they were done and I had already spent my fun money for the month to get ready for a 4 day camping tip.
Hang in there man. Your Velvet Beauty is something else to look at. -D²

Go here, they'll sell you the grille for $14,995 - and you get the rest of the car for free:
