Default Engine mount Q from another angle

I know the engine mount upgrade has been beaten to death and back, but my issue is different:

Winter use. I bought Shrek for all-year use and that includes snow, dedicated snow tires, mudflaps, a ski rack and salt on the roads (I live in the Alps).

So with that in mind, which setup would be better suited to harsh conditions?

The Wevo with black pillows, or

The factory RS mounts?

STD mounts are out of the equation.

Sounds like you already decided on RS or black pillow, personally i would consider softer compound for the conditions you describe.

Just remember to strengthen your bracket if you go for the RS/Wevo mounts

I'd go with RS mounts. They have a tiny more "give" than Wevos. Even with black pillows.

I'd say the RS-mounts. Porsche built the RS for daily use.

RS. I've been very pleased after installing a set two years ago. Only slightly more engine 'grumble' through the body shell, but for me, the simplicity of the units sealed the deal.

Probably soft rubber wevo since you're not tracking the car. Cheaper than the RS and you can replace the pillows anytime you please for less than $30. Try that with the RS or OEM...

Oracle does have a point, there.

I'll leave to others the performance differences.
But here's a take on the asthetic side:
A) RS mounts are raw cast aluminum flanged bodies (old school cast valve cover-rough), while
B) Wevo's are CNC-machined + anodized bodies [for the 'usual' space-agey, ewww-ahhhh, "kewwwwl" surface finish].
I've grown ever more appreciative of that old school look of my RS mounts every time I open the engine lid.
When seemingly Everything today can come machine-finished+anodized, there's something artisan-crafted-looking about a roughened cast surface that I dig.

(Perhaps it's also a (personal) gag reflex from seeing too much similar-appearing aftermarket Ricer anodized peacock bling.)
