Default Billet Aluminum Valve Covers

Need recommendations regarding suppliers of billet aluminum valve covers for my '89 C4. One of my stock lower valve covers is toast and I'd like to replace them with a set of quality billet covers that will be stiffer than the stock cover.

recommendations?

Tim

Hargett covers or IA.

I just bought a set of Hargett uppers and lowers, $285.00 usd for uppers and $285 usd for lowers.

There are no tie downs for the wires but many have used a rubber p clip that you can purchase from your local homedepot.

Sadly IA (Imagine Auto) are no longer in business. You might be able to locate a lightly used set, check around on the boards.

I've got the Hargett set, they are very nice pieces. As XTERRA notes they do not have provisions for the factory-style plastic wire clips, which is ok for the upper covers. I use the RSR clips on the lower covers (offered by the usual vendors).

Where you able to locate those clips? I'm also looking for some and I would like to know what you ended-up using.

Just another quick note, is the gasket on the lower cover (Hargett), the same as the OEM Porsche one or do it need a proprietary gasket?

$455 each?? Yeah I don't so.. Billet is $285 pair

To buy genuine Porsche valve covers you're either rich or dumb..

I have had a set of Hargett lowers on my 964 for about 8 months and they have been fine. I am now about to order a set of uppers. If anyone else needs a set of either let me know and I can see what we can do with a multi order...

Same 89 C4, same problem with lowers. I bought Tarrett billet covers and have been very impressed and satisfied. Standard OE gaskets fit. Cheaper than others I think.

Also, they were really nice when I mistakenly ordered wrong set. They sent correct ones and waited on returns without billing me again.
