Default Anyone ever use "Auto Parts Warehouse"?

I've got to by some A/C parts and am trying to avoid paying factory costs. Auto Parts Warehouse has the best prices - anyone ever dealt with them. Pelican Parts is next best option I think - thoughts or suggestions?

Pelican Parts is the absolute no-risk purchase. I'd factor that in the difference in price...

Sunset Imports tends to have the best prices (cost +15%), but their availability is limited and the lead times a bit long. Still, if you can stand the wait, or, better yet, they have the part in stock, then I think they are the best bet.

Sunset Imports 503.641.8600 or 800.346.0182

some of the parts can be replaced with Toyota parts and probably other makes. You might be able to find what you need somewhere besides Porsche.

I've used Auto Parts Warehouse a couple times and I have been completely satisfied with their products as well as getting the items shipped fairly quickly. My last order was about $400 worth of brake parts for my Mercedes and everything came just as described. Their prices are really hard to beat and when I purchased the items they had free shipping plus I googled coupons for them and found an additional 10% off coupon.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I ordered from both Auto Parts Warehouse (and got the 10% off thanks to SilvA4Q) with free shipping, and some of the parts from Pelican Parts. Well worth the research, got everything I needed for right at $200 including shipping vs. $866 from the dealer.

Hi Guys. AutoPartsWarehouse is called the "Walmart of AutoParts" by some people. They only deal in a very small subset of the parts available so they can purchase them in higher quantity, etc., and get substantial discounts. Specialty retailers like Pelican also support and sell the not-so-common parts as well as the mainstream stuff. As with the real Walmart - it's a matter of choice. If everyone shopped at Walmart exclusively, then all the neighborhood grocery stores would close, or adapt to compete (by dropping the specialty stuff and becoming just like Walmart). I realize that economic times are tough, and I've done all I can to keep Pelican's prices as low as possible within our business model (other competitors complain to our suppliers about our pricing all the time). It's really a matter of choice, and what types of retailers the customer would like to have around in the future.

Thanks for your continued support!

-Wayne

I just ordered about $1400.00 worth from Pelican. great service.

I found Sunset to be alot more expensive, not sure compared to other dealers. However, i do understand that they only sell Porsche only items.

I bought a ton of oem products that all 964 owners have used without a problem. Thanks for the savings and professional customer care.

You have to have about 5 sources and then check them all, ive found pelican to be best sometimes and sunset to be best sometimes etc, etc. Depends on the part.
I have bought one thing from autoparts warehouse and it was fine but they usually dont have the parts i need.

Yes its all about having varied sources. Just as Wayne says, it is important to also support the specialty retailers. I have always been happy with the service at Pelican. I sometimes get things from Sunset, as they are about 15 mins away by car, but I don't get the same discount as everyone else does, as I am local... but you get what you get. I also like AutohausAZ for parts. Very fast shipping on the basics.

ALSO, I want to pitch in here that we also need to support ALL of our specialists. We can't expect Wayne to continue to sell to us if he's not in business, and the same can be said of Rennsport Systems. Steve Wiener does a LOT for us on this forum, always there with free advice and an ear to bend for hours if you can't stop talking. I have seen this guy spend hours on the phone gently giving very valuable advice, to have the same "client" go out and buy parts at a discount somewhere else. PLEASE consider the value of the advice you get, and the time spent both amassing that kind of experience, and also doling it out to us idiots out there. PLEASE DON'T be that guy that gets free advice and runs out to buy somewhere else. If Wayne or Steve has helped you, do them the favor of some business. Believe it or not it really matters to their bottom line. We'd all be the poorer if they were not here to help.
