My son likes to hold a GPS when we take trips in the car...I need to disable the speedometer function on that thing.

It's crazy responsive and accurate. He likes to call out our speed in real time, and now he's old enough to do the math and tell me how much over the speed limit I'm driving. I used to tell him the car's speedometer was wrong, but the damn GPS...

(a note to the safety police - I don't mean excessive speed here, when a 6 year old sees a 35mph sign, they think literal...I think suggested speed)

How about an iPhone app that will read (from the vehicle) and display real time data (a la iDurametric)? I haven't heard of anything like this. It would require some hardware too I suspect but would be pretty handy. Oh codes, too. Any ideas?
