Default Intermittent Wiper stopped working

Is it the switch on the dash that is the problem or is it the relay? When I turn the **** either direction, I get one speed, which is the fastest intermittent setting.

Thanks...

Hi Ron,
I recently had a similar problem with my C4. I replaced the relay and it fixed it. Thought it might have been the reostat ****, but thankfully not.

Cheers Mike

Thanks for the response. How did you determine it was the stalk switch that failed? I can move the stalk into the intermittent position and the wipers move but they run at the highest intermittent speed.

Ron, did the new relay fix the problem for you? Mine has just started doing the same thing.

Sorry guys for not replying until now... No, I did not replace the relay switch. So far this year, I have been lucky to avoid the rainy days. We just got our first heavy rain this weekend and the car is going to be in the garage for awhile. I have it on my winter list of to do's. Good luck...

need help with this. My front wiper wont return or "park". All speeds work fine, expect interminttant doesn't work. I pull the dash, and steering wheel. The intermintant potentometer(sp) is working fine and restricting energy flow as it should. The switch behind the steering wheel seems fine. All connections look good and nothing happened when I jiggled stuff. So, my thought is I might have to replace my motor and I want to avoid this because of the costs involve. Anyone got some tips or advice before I plunk down hard cash?

heads up incase someone else runs into this problem. If your wipers work except they don't park, it can simply be a bad ground wire. Wipers on most cars apparently won't park unless grounded correctly.
