Default cat bypass with g-pipe?

Hi Guys

Is anyone running a cat bypass with a g-pipe? I'm running the g-pipe and love it so don't want to change the primary silencer but I'm tempted to double-up with a cat bypass. Can anyone advise what this would sound like? TIA.

Good question. I presently have a G pipe also as the only exhaust mod and plan on installing a Fabspeed cat bypass in the next week or two.

Cheers Dan, any idea what it will sound like? I don't want to lose the overall tone of the g-pipe but more volume and maybe some pops on the over-run would be great.

kusee pee, I can only guess really. The Fabspeed unit is quite nice, thick walled stainless cannister so I'm not expecting much of a drone. Hopefully just a rise in decimal level with much more flow. At least thats what I'm hoping for. I will know for certain once I do the install in a week or two.

MPeters has the g pipe and bypass and his car sounded like a small block 289 Ford with the "bundle of snakes" crossover headers.
Dan can better describe that sound than I

I don't know much about small block Fords but I'm guessing by your smiley that it sounds damn good?

Not exactly the same set up. I installed a Fabspeed cat by-pass, cup pipe, orig secondary muffler remains, also have an open airbox. The new sound is awesome, no significant drone, at +4500 rpm it really comes to life. Better throttle response, especially when heel-toe double clutching!
Opening day at WGI next Sat. I'll get to compare to other 964s

I believe Wachuko used to have a cat bypass + G-pipe with stock headers before, and he wistfully described it as the best possible sound you can get. Better than the sound he got after the hard work of installing his fancy new header/ muffler kit.

I guess exhaust sound is subjective. I have a cat bypass and really like the sound. I'm tempted to try a g-pipe but I have a cabrio and it's loud enough as it is at this point

Cheers fellas, well I'm going to take the plunge. Car has to have an oil pipe replaced on Tuesday so I've asked my guy to put on a cat bypass plus an induction kit as below:

A bit of modding always makes the pain of preventative-maintenance easier to take

Will let you all know the results.

Do it!!

Mine came with a cat by-pass, had the G pipe fitted at a Porsche day, Brands Hatch, 4 years ago.

Fabulous sound.

When we used to have the 'bacon butty meets', one of the guys, Greg I think, replaced all three, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

VERY LOUD...........

Cheers.

Yes, somewhere between a V-12 Ferrari and a big block Chevy. Listen:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNPgLg35I40

Cheers for all the replies guys. I'm looking forward to it so much more now! On my old 965 I had straight-through pipes and it was awesome - but got me in real trouble with the neighbours and the council...so I'll keep the primary for the time being
