quick answer - must be an old question
....been searching about sound proofing for 40 minutes.....just can't find the answer i am after.
just did annual service on the engine and almost completed detailing it. not the cleanest around but it doesn't leak or weep!!
BUT....that saggy sh't has got to go (sound proofing). most of the postings seem to deal with carpet replacement/soundproof removal....or doing a "reglue" i just want to get rid of the stuff that's now hanging down over the motor.
so is it as easy as.....tape some garbage bags over the engine and pull away??

thanks, but this in 1 of the forums that i have seen....may work if just the front is drooping - but as you can see from the above pic mine is really sagging back a long way (perhaps from extended stays in heated garages?).....
just looking for affirmation to rip it out i guess.

Just let it be or buy a new one and replace it when due for serious engine work...

I just put a garbage bag over the engine, removed the 8 or so screw-in holders and ripped it all out. It was made easier by removing the airbox and engine blower.
I removed the glue crap with Varsol and lost 2.324 kg in the process.
