Hi,
In the uk plenty of cars need the engine tinware as the salt hasn't been kind to it over the years.
I know its available from the dealers for the price of a kidney or two, but can any of the specialists around the globe supply it at normal money.
Can anyone point us in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance,,

Here is a previous thread on how to change the side tin:

Also, if you have not done it yet, order a pair of those Imagine Auto valve covers, they do NOT leak!

Gaz,
Last time I heard it was cheaper to get it from FVD with shipping than from any uk suppliers

I've got 2, 3, maybe more sets around from conversions into earlier cars or just engines I've picked up. PROBLEM is that they're in boxes in my secondary warehouse behind a bunch of vending machines for one of my businesses. Let me know what the stuff is worth to you in both above average and below average condition, and don't be in a hurry!

I have been muttering about getting some sets made up in stainless steel or alloy, but the problem is that a full set in perfect condition is needed to work from. I am sure they could be made at a much more sensible price if a number of sets were made in one go.

tin tin.
Hi,
I think I need to get hold of a set to see if my sheet metal skills could produce a set of these.
I know that I could patch a set up with repairs here and there, but I think we need to look at the Dansk ones first before we get carried away with making patterns and getting my bench folder out.
I have mates within the vw beetle faternity and the engine tin is cheap as chips for them.
Gaz.
