What year is this elegant old girl??
Hello all,
Well, I know that this is not a 964, I also think that it is pre-74, but does anyone know what year it is??
This is a so there I was story.....
So there I was filling up the Camry at a fueling station and I felt something staring at me. You know the old P-car sense. I turned around and there was a VW repair shop behind the gas station. And then I saw these pair of eyes looking out at me. I am a sap for old sport cars in various states of disrepair (as I am with dogs at shelters and so on......), but I think I may go take a look at her and see if there is anything salvageable on the car. I know there is a lot of rust, but what the heck, why not put another project on the board
It wouldn't be the worst backyard decoration now would it.....
I am also posting on the 911 board, just seeing if anyone here knew....
The pic is with my phone, I am trying to find time tomorrow to go get better pics..the pic makes the rust out to be worse than it is, at least visible that is
Thanks all

Good call on the sign......does anyone really want it??? I can ask for it, maybe a case of beer would work.
My dad had about 10 old split window vans, had enough of those (I was the one who had to do the oil changes at as a young teenager, not good for the image you know)
The guys on the 911 side say its pre 72, so sans corrosion protection but I figure whats the harm in looking?? Might not be that bad. Probably is though

Ian,
You are the man! That will be one hell of a project. I guarantee at the end you'll know every millimeter of what makes a 911 so special.
I've followed a couple restos over at Pelican, cars that looked great with just a little rust... then the new owner discovered a little more, then the shop discovered a little more rust... months later the owner would start a thread showing a naked tub beginning a ground up resto. At least here you don't have super high expectations.

I thought the color was sand beige (I had 2 that color). The interior rearview mirror is chrome, which tells me it is 1967 or earlier. The windshield wipers are parked on the right, which tells me it is early 1966 or earlier. The driver's sunvisor is white, which says 1967 or earlier.
I can't tell if it is a 911 or a 912. Most were 912. No fog lamps in the front bumper - odds are real high it is a 912.
