9m's RHD 964RS collection - Touring + Lightweight + Clubsport
I guess that you sometimes lose your sense of reality when you work in the specialist Porsche sector on some of the most desirable and rare Porsche models, however once in a blue moon a coincidence comes along that makes you take a reality check. OK, so 9m's well known for working on the odd RS or two, however here was a photo opportunity that even made us sit up and take note: how about a perfect set of red, white & blue RHD 964RS's in Touring, Lightweight and Clubsport varieties?
OK, so the Clubsport may be a 9m64RS but it still makes a pretty impressive line up.
The photo was taken in the rare February sunshine on the day that the red & white cars were being loaded up on the transporter & taken back to their owner who's now working in Europe & wants to play with them in the summer. Some people have all the fun....

What a hoarder!
(Only similarity I ever had was having 3 '86 930's in my little shop on the same day when all were still in warranty and less than a year old. I gloated to the Porsche dealer that day.)

Thank you Colin!
I just finished watching an Olympic medal ceremony. So with that in mind, all three cars picture here deserve gold medals!
The 9m64RS looks sharp with the Rays rims. Any pics from 3/4 rear?

Ahhh That is the RSL 4.0 with 400+ bhp that the article was on. Great!!
The blue one is David's Touring with a new Light interior, I think.
The Clubbie is the 9M Special, which was also a superb article?
I'm not a stalker you understand, but a purveyor of fine cars!
Has 9M done any 70's RSR Rep / Tributes - (Excluding Singer) to date?
I note they are all RHD as well, making the eclectic collection an even rarer site! Given the 1 of 7 Touring 1 of 42 RSL and 1 of 3 Clubbie's in RHD

Funny you should mention that Barry: if you remember back a good few years ago (when 9m was called 930 Motorsport) we did build a 3.5 litre engined 2.7RS Hillclimb car for Rod Carman who went on to win back to back titles in the Porsche Club Northern Speed Championship. The car was originally a 2.4E in blood orange, but was campaigned in all black by Valentine Lindsey (with number plate V12) in the Porsche Modified & Intermarque Championships in the '80's, Rod bought the car, ran it for a year and had us restore it over the winter and add the 3.5 engine, we repainted it GP White with Rubystone Red decals, wheel centres & roll cage. Rod then sold it on, bought it back and sold it on again to a good friend of mine in Scotland. We've since fitted Motec and a 964RS plastic intake manifold, running single plug, 993 cams & SSI exhaust the last time I dyno'd it we got a very respectable 305hp. There was a great article on this car in 911PW issue 61 April '99 titled " A bit on the slide".
We have done a few others, including a similar 993 engined car for Steve Rogers which he raced in the Intermarque & 750 Motor Club (& again, sold it to another customer in Scotland) , but in recent times Ninemeister deliberately shifted the focus to the development of the 964, 993 & 996 RS & GT3 models to reflect our changing customer base which has a stronger interest in the trackday market.
That said, my involvement last year in sorting out Matteo's 911RSR & with Rob Dickinson's Singer 911 project has definitely rekindled my interest in pre-impact bumper 911's, so there's an outside chance that we may be building a little 9m 2.7RS or 2.8RS special sometime in the near future.

Much respect for your work Colin.....but my God those wheels have the subtlety of a fake gold Rolex on a wannabe gangster's wrist.....imo the RS is so much more menacing when dressed understated.

Well we could have got them in bronze if you think they would look better ....??
Seriously, the Rays wheels are one of the lightest & strongest monoblock wheels that you can buy so are ideal for use on trackdays. Since they are also less than half the price of a used 964RS magnesium rim, if it means that our customers can keep their mags pristine they won't be as worried about taking their pride & joy out for the occasional thrashing.
