Default Painting Fan need your opinion

I have my fan out for painting and can't decide what colour to go with, after seeing the singer 911 I liked the look of a metallic gold fan,so this made me think that a metallic copper would look good, but the other half of me (and my wife) thinks a silver would be a bit less bling a more in keeping with the car(it's a 1990 with aluminium intakes).
So...
A. Copper
B. Silver

I do like the singer fan too. My fan has a yellowish color too it in some spots so I was thinking a goldish color would look good too. But as you said to minimize the bling and to match the rest of the engine, if and when I do this, I will most likely do silver.

So +1 for Silver

Are you going to Powder coat or just paint?

I did mine in silver - 'cause that's what I had lying about. I think it's a bit too understated. So if you WANT understatement - silver's the way to go. : )

I had mine repainted in silver, the one that BMW use on their M5 rims. This paint is veeeeery shiny, a bit bling but still just silver.

Anders

Mine is gold. The bling looks pretty good on a white car.

Up to the 964 series, fans came painted gold from the factory, I think.
I painted mine gold too but I used the Eastwood paint that simulates gold cad.
Silver or gray are also good colors.

There were remnants of gold on fans on my old SC and my Turbo, as well.

Thanks for the replies, Springer and Metal Guru any pictures of your gold fans.
Spent a while today sandblasting my fan, there is a bit of pitting on the blades from some corrosion, any ideas how to cover this so it will not spoil the paint job.

How difficult is it to remove the fan?

I think a painted fan looks fan-tastic.....!

I vote for RED. Red = Hot.

A good primer would help fill in some of the corrosion,,Try not get primer or paint too thick at edge of blades though as it may rub on housing

Does anyone have any experience using Gibbs metal preservative?

I don't have any shiny bits in the engine compartment, so for me just cleaning and improving the fans "stock" appearance would be enough. Plus you can clean/protect with the fan in the car.

What is Gibb's? (no affiliation)

Gibb's seems to be popular with the guys in the Pelican forums...
