That was a picture of the AC condenser fan from Robert Linton's America GS 3.8 Hardtop Roadster. I have no idea if carbon would be suitable as an engine fan, or even benifical... probably not, it's not like Magnesium is a hevy element!

Thank you Wachuko for your efforts in putting together the America GS Consolidated Thread.
Here's another...

In fact (I do understand it was posted as a joke ) that was not the original paint, you can see the silver if you remove the fan and look at the backside of the fan. It was much like the color I painted my fan with albeit not that glossy.

Kind regards
Anders

964RS .... The backside of the fan is the same colour it's not been painted. When i replaced the alternator i had contemplated painting the fan but having cleaned it first, i thought i'll leave as is.

RS_SAM ... the drillings at the 2 o'clock position are when the fan was factory balanced.

Here is the gold fan. Not too much bling, but tastes vary. This was painted over a year ago. So far no sign of peeling or flaking.

I went with copper in the end and satin black for the surround.

CC, looks good.
IMO, painting the fan and painting or polishing the surround (I acid etched my surround to keep the stock look) is the best way to dress up the engine compartment. Once that's done, wipe down everything else and your ready to show your car.
