RH Speedlines are on! I'm going to crash...
....because I'm staring at the car's reflection as I drive!
Bad shots but...it's so nice.
They did a Euro RS alignment when they put it all back together and it steers so much better. Has the light, tactile feel of a 997 but with more heft. Ride is better too and there's less road noise. No bob either and it's still on the original shocks which the shop said should last 'till 200K (kms not miles). Shop was G Tek in Toronto and I'm very impressed. Seem like really great guys.
Details: 18x8 ET52 and 18x9.5 ET47 and H&R Greens.
Couldn't be more pleased.
Won't be able to really push it as even though it's dry out it's minus 14 and the PS2s have zero grip.

It looks very nice. I still can't decide whether the Speedlines (or good quality Replicas like these) are a better bet than BBS magnesium wheels. I really like this look, but I also like the BBS. Well done anyways... you can be really proud of you ride - it's beautiful!

@Morty - I know what you mean. I contemplated putting BBS on one side of the car and Speedlines on the other!
@911Jetta - 200K KMS BTW. In fact they didn't technically say they would last till 200,000km (125,000 miles) but checked them and said it's not usually an issue until that point. I'm not a mechanic but I have tested and reported on over 1000 cars in the last decade and there don't appear to be any damping issues.

It's a 1990, 5spd, black interior and has 101,000 kms on it. Very solid with little interior wear. Fully PPI's by Downtown Porsche in Toronto under the watchful eye of the service manager who in turn was given instructions to be attentive by a high-profile PCNA friend.
I don't know what I did with the option list but there's nothing special like sport buckets and LSD like in your car;-)
Very happy with the purchase and got a great price reflecting the market.
It needs new ABS sensors and probably RMS in the Spring but doesn't appear to be dripping much at all.
I'll do the RS brake ducts and maybe Aero mirrors...I'm kinda a flag fan though.

My '90 C2 has 120k (miles) and still feels great. I done a couple mountain run with some very fast cars and I couldn't believe how well my stock system handled (I know with after market equip. it can get a lot better!!). I'll eventually get Bils HD/HR greens, but it can wait. I hate my 4x4 ride height though...
So I can completely understand your shops comments. Given the age of these cars, I really respect a shop that gives an honest assessment and doesn't automatically jump at the chance to install more new parts.
I've read numerous posts, and thought the common wisdom was that our Monroe shocks were junk and past their prime at 20k miles... your shops comments match my daily driving experience.

I agree 100%. When I sheepishly asked "Should I be considering new shocks or Bilstein HDs?" They simply said they'd test them out and let me know but didn't expect a problem.

I agree about it being a classic. After I sold the last 964 I had a few years ago I dabbled with the idea of a 993 but I don't like the styling as much and a used 997 but it's a boat by comparison. Don't get me wrong, if I was going to use it day in and day out I'd definitely get a 997 as the prices are getting rediculous but having a 964 in the garage is just so special. It will look just as good 5, 10, 20 years from now and I convinced my wife that it was at the bottom of its depreciation cycle so if we ever did need to sell it...
I've had an insanely busy Fall never mind the last two years as we started a new publsihing and media company. Leaving the office late a night and simply going for a run up and down the highway, or sitting at light with the smell of oil and the gentle side-to-side swaying from the flat six is like therapy after a long day.
