Yes, I would tend to listen to those two gentlemen.
I will just point out that yes, Charles has a lot of good detail on his page - but Charles also sells oil. Steve does not. I always take that into account when looking at topics like this.

Couldn't get my hands on Brad Penn and in a pinch picked up some V Twin 20-50 motorcycle oil as referenced many times in previous threads. However, while skimming some threads I think I saw IndyCam mention just one quart of the V Twin stuff mixed with regular mobli 1 would bring the levels up to snuff. So...am I going to grenade my engine running 9 quarts of the V Twin stuff? Should I drain and refill? Going into winter so I could also drain half or so and fill in with some thinner Brad Penn I suppose. Any thoughts?

sweet, thanks guys. So..yes I was a little taken aback actually when I first fired up the car the idle was much lower and the engine much more quiet...even soft like and I have a cat bypass, maxflow dual exhaust. That thing has always been on the loud side. Took about 5 minutes and a short trip around the block and the idle went back to normal.

I've been running Rotella 15w-40 for a few years now after previously running Valvoline's VR1. Stopped using the VR1 after they reduced the zinc and P.
I've been thinking about shifting back to Valvoline, but instead of the VR1, using their NSL VV855 20w50. Apparently it has more zinc and P than even brad pen, and at much higher rated psi of 103,000 vs 72,000. The only caveat is dealing with a significant reduction of detergent levels.
Not sure i'm willing to accept that loss without hard numbers to work with.
