Default carbon fiber

hi,

two of us want bonnets, and I might buy the doors as long as the quality is right performance trim do the parts I want, but I need to know who has bought off them and were they happy with what they had bought.
A mate has just driven half way across the uk to view a bonnet, that was 20mm smaller than standard from a ebayer, so its a worry buying this stuff as most of it isn't good enough for road cars.

regards gaz

There is the good news and the bad news. The good is that we can make you the best hood in the world and make it in the U.K. The bad news is cost - even without the titanium prop rod.

Was not trying to sell. My point was that a truly first class hood would probably be in excess of GBP 1500. You can get other ones for one third that price but....

In fact, other than the cool factor, it is not worth it for almost any car. By itself, the lbs (kg) that a carbon fiber hood will save will make no noticeable difference to performance.

Default cool carbon.

Hi,,

Yes carbon is cool and its a nice thing to have on a fast PORSCHER but sadly its a fashion thing on my car,but the other bonnet will be getting fitted to a real screamer and its a ctr lookalike and low weight is its thing.
I hope someone has bought a carbon bonnet, and can recommend a supplier and show me some photo's
Getty stuff looks good but who's bought it ? and can you show me some pics

regards gaz

ps,,thanks bob for your time

I have all Getty Design parts on my car and for what they are (ie not Robert Linton quality parts), they are about the best you'll get in the price range. The hood is a foam core hood and it fit nicely. At one time I bought 6 or 7 hoods for a number of 964 Cup guys to replace the aluminum hood and they all fit fine. I have the CF GT2 Evo doors which work well on a race car, however, don't expect to use door seals with them, etc. Fit is good, quality is good.

True - but i want to ditch the sunroof, and i need to cut the roof off to finish the roll cage, and a carbon skin is the cheapest and easiest way to repair the roof.
