I read that they stepped up the normal 911 quality of workmanship for this edition, which was a large portion of the upcharge! ????????

zuffenhaus.us is building a 964 specific Fuchs repro. The RS above with modular "Fuchs" looks dead-on perfect to me.

Fashion changes though... design and style is usually top down, lead by the factory. I'm sure if an average 997 owner showed up at a local cars & coffee with Fuchs style wheels on his 997, most people wouldn't like the look... but on a factory 911 Sport Classic people will love it. I would assume a lot of people who can afford 997, grew up wanting an 70's-80's Fuchs wheeled Carerra?

I will be interesting to see if Fuchs style rims start popping up on more and more 993 and 964s as a result of the Sport Classic? Love the duck!
your car looks great - but is seriously slammed! HOW do you manage speedbumps-service station entrances, driveway inclines?

I found the image on Google... not my car, don't have the wheels either. My car is on the left.

Based on what I've seen from responses in other forums, 997 owners seem to like the retro Fuchs. Even the duck?!

If you haven't seen some of their Porsche projects yet, visit pelicanparts.com and search for them in the 911 forum. Good, good stuff. Maybe the guys who build my dream 964 down the road? I need to visit their shop during my next solo roadtrip...

MPeters,
With that wonderful duck, retro Fuchs on your car would look amazing!

I wonder what size would look best with the 964 (bumper) design? 17" or 18"?

Phil Raby tweeted it a few days ago (great blog and lots of great stuff on T911 website btw). Love the rims and ducktail!
