Uncle.

I have a plain old NAPA battery now, year-and-a-half, no prob. Bought it with a coupon for half the Optima price.
Really,

I have owned 5 of these batteries the first was when they were first released and I had that battery for 9 years in a 911. Drained it dead several times and it always came back to life. Sold it with the car.

What model do we need for our cars? I need a couple although last i checked Costco had them for the same price assuming they have the model you need.

Hi Gus - yes, deal is available through the link in the first post - $110 shipped for any red or yellow top.

Gus and Cobolt - I ordered the 75/25 (which is the aka for the 75/35) If you do a search in the 993 and 964 forum for "75/35 Optima" you'll see a bunch of folks who've confirmed it fits. There are pics in this thread that show them mounted https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...ight=35+optima

Baltic964Cab and Bearclaw have confirmed the 35 works also, and tbennett017 has a yellow top.

From the links above from Shamus964 - you will notice that:

The 75/25 have both top and side mount terminals, and place the terminals right next to the body (away from the spare).

The 35 has just top mount terminals, and places the terminals where they should be. (closer to the spare).

Forgot to add:

The 75/35 has the opposite terminal configuration as the 75/25. But still has the side mount terminals in addition to top mount terminals.

That is what the "/" means in Optimas type number. It is a battery with a "combo" configuration of terminals - BOTH top mount and side mount.

Only difference is which side of the battery the "+" or "-" terminal is on (same goes for the type 25 or 35 - these only have top mount terminals).

Yes - it looks like the 75/25 is turned around rather than the 35. Looks like either work pretty well with the 35 being better for the 964 application and the 75/25 being more flexible down the road for other apps.

Good stuff!
