If I order the parts from EEUU - paying 100-120% more in taxes and shipping - I assume the total cost of a top end plus clutch will be someplace between 12-18k U$S (not really sure because nobody would give a total number before opening the engine)
And of course after spending that kind of money my car market value would be the same. That is the reason why a newer car with less mileage appears atractive.

If you haven't had one, recently, you may want to have your shop perform a leakdown test on your C2. At 95K miles (and over 60 track days) my previous C4 had leakdown values from 4-6% across all cylinders and ran very strong. Certainly not in need of a rebuild any time soon.

You're welcome. It will also put to rest any concerns you might have about a potential rebuild and possibly uncover issues which you can address, now, before they become serious problems.
By the way, silver 964's are relatively hard to find and simply one of the best colors for a p-car. Hang on to it!

Yesterday I went to the dealer (official Porsche Importer) to take a look at the 993.....Wow!!!! that car is in amazing shape, very nice with only 40K miles, only thing I noticed were the dated tires (made in 2003) but it sure is a good buy.
Let´s see what happens with the guy that wants to buy mine, he is coming on saturday...

Have you driven the 993?
I think you have to follow your heart sometimes otherwise you can have regrets. For many of us, I expect buying a Porsche is an emotional decision as much as anything else...

No Kahdmus I haven´t driven a 993 yet.... don´t get me wrong I do love my 964
This is kind of a coincidence, one guy is very much interested in my car and a very nice 993 appears for sale.
For a complete understanding of the situation, there are probably less than 30 964 in this country and none surfaced for sale since I bought mine, 993s are a little more common but not much....

If you remember Warpig on this forum just bought a 993, low mileage 35k. He was set on a 964, but couldn't pull the trigger on one he liked. I mentioned the 993 and he found one up in Milwaukee. I drove two weeks and it is the second 993, I drove. Wow, it was fantastic, I loved it. See what you think, the 993 is similar to the 964, interior wise, but performance wise it is a little bit faster, and it sounds different. Good luck.

Thanks for the kind words about the car... I love this car... It is the only car i have ever owned that makes me giddy when I drive it.
I wanted a 964 in the worst way and was almost completely turned off on the idea of a 993 when I began my search back in February. Streetfighter suggested I be open minded and give the 993 a closer look just to be sure I want a 964. The more I looked at them, the more I liked them, I drove one and liked it even more than the 964's I had driven. So I started to include them in my search. I honestly would have bought a 964 if I had found the right one first, but I found the 993 first. I admit I was looking for a garage queen and being that the 993's are newer there are bound to be more of them in better condition around. I spent about 5K more than I wanted to but about 5K less than I had seen any other 993's for with 35K on the clock that were nearly perfect inside & out.
