RS engine mounts report
Installed new RS engine mounts today. Impressions after a 30 minute "spirited" drive are positive. The car feels a little tighter. I did not notice any noice increasements when going through the gears or when driving at different speeds. The shifting action seems marginally improved and the take off from stand still is smoother and more linear. Also there is less backlash in the driveline when transiting from throttle off to throttle on, especially in the lower gears. That I think is were the largest improvement is. The original mounts were in poor condition so maybe that is why the difference was pronounced.
I have a primary bypass, an open air filter box and have removed some sound insulation in the rear of the car. Perhaps owners of unmodified cars would notice some increase in N/V/H?
All in all a very worthwile upgrade in my opinion.

The RS engine mounts improve the the overall feel and stability of the engine, also improves shifting crispness - If the rear engine mount make this much of an improvement - Then is there any advantage to replacing the stock 964 with the RS transmission mounts on the forward part of the transmission??/
Anyone know / done ?

no idea on tranny mounts.
would suspect they are trivial re torsional compliance compared to RS v. stock mount's stiffnesses (and especially given their moment arm lengths over that of the tranny mount's.)
But, no witnessed idea on this topic.
Just, so far -- so good.

I think they are cheaper from the main dealer. Bought mine from them two months ago at £108.29 each, including VAT and delivery is always free. Prices have gone up on lots of 964 bits since; not sure about the mounts.
Not having a pop at anyone in particular but, why do owners so often seem to buy parts from indies rather than the dealer? Makes sense for some parts but, many OE parts are still cheaper ( well, relatively... ) with Porsche. I always check with them for anything I need/want first. Also, ask for a club discount if in the UK; they always give it even if you aren't a member of PCGB.
