Brad Penn source
Anyone know of a source for Brad Penn Oil, in TX? The shipping from the northeast is a killer at about $30 for 14 qts.
I may have to switch to another oil. Car is driven 260 miles round trip to the track and back and sees 8 DE sessions over two days or about 225 track miles. I change the oil every third DE. I may cut that back to two.
I don't want to start a ZDDP thread, but I would prefer a hi ZDDP content oil and am not hung up on full synthetics. What say Ye?

Haul your car up here and take home a few cases. Brad Penn is widely available in these parts. It's an excuse for you to drive at MidOhio too. If you think you can handle it I know you're used to the TWS roval... but you can drive around a corner, right?

Actually, I can drive around the corner ....to the the quick stop for a brewski.
Though its not always pretty, I can find my way around most curves.

I now use a good grade dino oil (Valvoline 20-50) and add a 4 oz. bottle of ZDDP+ for every 5 quarts (2 per oil change).
It runs $6 - $7 a bottle, but shipping is much less expensive.

Thats an alternate solution I hadn't thought of. What is the ZDDP branded as? What is your source? Do parts houses such as NAPA or AutoZone etc stock it or is it special ordered?

Did you email Brad Penn? They will tell you your 'local' distributor, which may or may not be that local.
I ordered mine from The Oil Warehouse, $54 delivered to my door.

Thanks for the information.
BP has not responded to my last email regarding the addition of any new distiributors since the first of the year. I'll probably go back to Castrol 20-50 and the additive and simplify things.

Hmmmm, after checking, the ZDDPlus additive doesn't seem practical or or any more economical solution given it takes 3, 4 oz bottles per oil change at $27 plus shipping.

I know I'm lucky because I can buy it around the corner and don't have to have it shipped. But, it's pretty cheap oil to begin with. I'd pay an extra $25 to get it. Hardly significant when it comes to the price of an engine.
140mph, living in the redline, downshifting at stupid high speeds, Texas heat...
... good grief, man, get the Brad Penn 20W-50 Racing Green and forget the $25!!!
(I will return to the 911 Forum now and leave you alone with your thoughts)

What he said! I order mine and pay the $20 + for shipping. I figure if I can spend over $10k for a 3.6 transplant I can spend an extra $20 for the best oil for it. That's just one man's opinion.
