993 Engine Mounts in a 964
#76
I started researching motor mount threads here when I recently noticed that my exhaust tip had dropped about 2.5 inches from where it should be. Upon further investigation I can see there is also a gap between the engine tin and the body seal on the passenger side as well. I'm hoping it is just the motor mounts which I can clearly see need to be replaced. I've read through a few of these posts and haven't seen anybody else post the same issue. Have other experienced this? Is it likely just the motor mounts or could there be another factor as well?

I just installed the FVD Cup motor mounts on my 90 C2 and am very happy. I was warned that they would vibrate all to hell, but at this point it is WAY smoother than the ones I took out.

So - I'm interested in replacing the mounts on my '90 964 and this seems to present a viable option. I looked at the FCP website above and noticed that part fits all 993 and 996 models EXCEPT it's not listed for the GT3. I guess it could be an oversight. More interesting is the factory GT3 mount is cheaper than the other 996 motor mounts (less than $200 each). NOW - what about using a factory GT3 motor mount on my 964???
Looking at prices right now and the GT3 mounts are almost half as much as the 993 mounts, which are cheaper than the 964 mounts. From the few pictures I've found, they appear to be the same.
