Default need a shop in MA for PPI

So found a car that looks great and will most likely need a PPI done next week. Any one know any around the Natick , MA area? The owner suggested EPE, but they seem pricey. They might be very good just expensive and recommended by the current owner. He seems like a really good guy just want to speak with a few shops before I pick one.

Where in Mass is the car? EPE has a good reputation.

Weird. I bought my car from Natick area this time last year. Anyway, my car was serviced at EPE as well and they know air cooled cars. I am sure they are pricey, but well worth it, they do quality work.

If you check out the lower part of this page:
http://www.porschenet.com/JCMS/content/view/54/48/

It lists the businesses approved by the local region for track inspections. Any should be able to do a PPI. As already mentioned, EPE is very highly regarded around here. Nearby in Framingham is a shop that would be a good choice (a long time ago they checked out my first 951). A bit farther away is Autobahn Performance in Peabody, which I can recommend from my dealings. Very experienced on the air cooled 911's.

I trust my car with Bill Pfister in Framingham (on that list), which is adjacent to Natick. Experienced, easy to deal with, and should be a little cheaper than EPE I believe, although not sure how much variation in price there is for a one-off PPI.

bugeye spoke to Bill and realized he is the one servicing the car already. Glad he comes with such a reputation. Now would you still do a leak down if he just built the motor end of 2007?

I guess if it were me, I would probably do the leakdown test for peace of mind at a relatively small cost, but others may differ.

Yeah bill was like you would just be wasting your money. but I guess will see how the motor runs etc. I would bet it is fine and has no issues.

Now with the thread of broken engine, it seems prudent to do the leakdown.

Looks like there might have been a bad batch of valve springs around the time of that rebuild.

better safe than broke later.

looks like the car with the problem valve springs was rebuilt in 2004.

Is there now a new car(to you) sitting in the driveway?

Next saturday going to pick her up and will post pictures. Hopefully goes fine with the PPI. I know that the abs light is on and the mechanic has gone thru the system so last item is the abs module and the seller has it for me to be replaced. Was supposed to be going in for the repair. So no issues I know of. absolutely love her and glad the other one did not go thru

Ok so got her back and had the PPI at eurotech by Bill Pfister and he missed the distributor belt was broken. Not sure how he missed it I heard an issue driving it and I am no expert. Oh well it is getting fixed now.
