Default Curbed chrome wheel...

I was out driving today and hit a curb. Doh! It was either blow my left front shock in a massive pothole or hit the curb? I turned in tight and hit the curb with my left right rear. I am wondering is there anything you can do about the rash? The lip is scraped up pretty good. Anyone have this happen to them?

That stinks! I was considering buying a set of wheels and tires from a friend 2 years ago. I had them leaned up against mine to see how they look...one fell flat on it's face and damaged what seemed like every surface.

I sent them to a wheel company I found through my local shop. They stripped, filled and repainted the damaged wheel. It was a perfect match!

So, it cost me $175 to look at wheels that didn't fit .

Your wheel will likely need the chrome stripped, rash filled and sanded, then replated with chrome. I can't imagine it would run over $300. A rack-plater alone will probably charge $60-$100 to strip and replate.

That stinks! I know, I feel sick just thinking about it. I will see if I have someone in the area who can possibly do the work for me. Price wise from what you mention that is not to bad. Less than what I was thinking. Thanks Bates.

Theres a few options too, they can use an alloy filler on the rash then re-finish the wheel or you can get the lip tig welded and the re-ground. I also have a few point of contacts if you need. Theres a place up that Ben at MK knows they usually do all of his wheel work. I've heard that the guy who does it is rather cheap and does excellent work. He repaired a few of Ben's wheels and then polished them and they were perfect.

After 16 years of use my cup 1s were pretty beat up. I just had them refinished, balanced, painted, etc for $110 each. They look amazing and now I don't need to spend $$$$ on new wheels. This was one of the least expensive improvements I have made.
