what is the small device under dash ??
all,
there is a small device mounted on the side kick of the passenger footwell under the dash...sort of looks like the backside of an ignition switch
again it is mounted on the right side vertical portion of the kickpanel just under the dash....it looks like the open plug ins on an ignition switch...it looks like it should have a cover so i assume the cover is missing on this??

I'm guessing you mean the On Board Diagnostics (OBD) port. It's where the Bosch Hammer or other OBD I tool plugs in to read and reset fault codes. Yes it should have a round plastic cover.

Its the diagnostic port to the car's computer system. Yes, there should be a plastic cover on it. I'll look to see if I can find the part number.
