Should I paint my rockers / bumper
Should I paint the lower rockers and rear bumper black strip body color? I have been considering this for a while and now I have the painter, who just finished my Alfa and who owes me some work, to get it done. I think the newer models came this way. Mine are not beat up as the car only has 55,000 miles but the painted ones do look good to me. Originality has already gone by the way side on my car.
Old pic but shows the rockers well.

Steve, first off all, your car looks awesome!! If you are going to paint parts, why not do the tear drops and 993 styled door handles?
I have been going back and forth on this... still have not decided... I bought the paint, the rubber trim, new fin sill, rear bumper cover for when I do a dual exhaust...
All pending until I can decide if I go all red or red/black... and when I find the correct front splitters to balance the rear spoiler... Turbo S splitters??

Thanks guys,
Jaime, I would like the teardrop mirrors but it is my understanding that the base doesn't completely cover the existing base area. I took one of my flag mirrors off and there is an indented line around the existing base that may be too deep to color sand out? My car has original paint so I am not sure I want to start sanding on it anyway. So the first easy mod is the rockers.

do It.
I have mine all torn apart in the garage waiting to be taken to the painter.
it started off wanting to paint my new splitter and worked its way all around the car slippery slope !

The base covered the old marks when I added teardrops to the old C4.
I would go body colour and add teardrops.
Btw...your car looks fantastic in that picture!

yes paint!!!
I am currently having mine done
I will be doing the teardrop mirrors as well at some point, and 993 door handles
Wachuko, what is required with the door handle swap?

I tried looking for replica units... but there are not replica 993 handles for our cars. Here is the response I received from Better Bodies M.D. LLC when I asked them about their 993 handle replicas:
The reason is due to electric solenoids being part of our cars inner lock assembly and larger tumblers in which the 993 plastic replicas won't acomodate without customizing. As you would well know, no one wants to customize parts anymore and really just want bolt on applications... so the fitment years for replicas go only to 89.
For our cars, an easy bolt on would be the OEM handles. I would recommend fiding an used set due to the expensive prices of new ones (around $580). Try Partsheaven. They have great prices for used OEM equipment. Their toll free number is 800-767-7250.

I am actually having the body line (indented line) that seperates the white from the black on my rockeres/ front and rear bumpers filled in, so it appears to be all ONE solid piece, with no seperation at all....I feel it updates the look while retaining that 964 classic look....here is an example of what I am doing, just in case you would consider the same.
I also see people completely do away with the black rubber stripping on the side, and it looks really clean, but sure some modifications will be needed if thats to be done
