Jaime,

How'd you get your thermostat so spotless? (as shown in that last picture)

The short, stubbie hoses are obvious, easy replacement priorities:
PET No.....Part No.
30........964.207.130.01
26........964.207.217.00
21........964.207.241.01, .03, or .05
22........964.207.251.01, or .03
These three -- are they worth preemptively tossing?
31........964.207.143.00, or .01
41........964.207.315.00 '89,90 / 964.207.316.00 for '91 & on
37........964.207145.01

Steve -- good advice thanks I'll make doubly sure although it appears that it is right at the connection as the rest of the hose looks bone dry at first appearance - I'll check it.

Jaime -- that's not part of you poking out of your car I hope!!! (if so, at least protection was being used....) It appears that the leak is at the top connection, is N.013.813.2 for the top washer?

Thanks,

--H

To clean the thermostat, use simple green and a toothbursh and rinse with water.
Very good point. In my case, it was ready to be replaced:

Be sure to have some epoxy glue and new clips (#4) handy... you have three of those clips that have plastic nuts inside the fender (use a 10mm wrench to get them out). Keep an eye on a metal piece that will fall out (clamping metal #19).

You have a phillips bolt that also needs to come out (#18 and #11). Loosen #14 or take it out completly, your choice. The sill will come out, back first and the the part inside the long side sill. If this has been in your car for eternity... the rubber strip will be dry, hard as a rock, has shrunk, and maybe one with the car... get a new one to replace it (#6)...

Jaime, thanks again.
Shop around (Sunset, Pelican)... I ended up buying from both... for one line Pelican had the best price... by a long stretch... but for the other one, Sunset could not be beat...

What are these mysterious plastic wheel well covers you speak of?
My car does not have them are they only on later cars or only in some areas?

I have no wheel liners on the rear wheel arches.

Jaime, again, just to be clear, part# N.013.813.2 for the top washer?

Kahdmus,

for the oil filter drain plug it is part # N.013.813.2 (US$1.00 from Pelican, less from the local dealer if you have a good relationship with them and/or PCA membership)

for the hose adapters (you will need two, one for each line/adapter) is part # 900.123.139.30 (US$2.00 from Pelican, less from the local dealer if you have a good relationship with them and/or PCA membership)

+1 Here is what to watch for on the long oil line. Note the how the hose changes color at the dry point.
