Is using Goofoff or similar product a bad idea on paint to remove the left over sticky goop?

The rear badge is not something that Porsche AG had available as a special wishes option in 964 days. I saw something just like that the other day at Mammoth,--on a Cayenne Turbo. Very inappropriate,--and tacky. Years ago you used to be able to order the cars without ANY badges ((not just the rears, like today) and it made for a cleaner look up front. Hell,--everyone knows what a Porsche looks like. You don't need to be redundant!

Dental floss and a hair dryer to heat it up just a touch works great. Nice looking car but the paint and leather are not special either.

"Nice looking car but the paint and leather are not special either"...oooh...mean! IIRC Polar Silver ( I think it is? ) was a special order colour i.e. not standard, as it was for the 993 ( ? ).

No, I think you were being mean...

Seriously though, is there any way to tell is a car was 'special ordered' from Germany?

As I said I was not being mean.. you asked my intent and I just told you my intention was not to be mean. Lets move on? There are different kinds of "special orders" there are stock colors and ordered colors and then "paint to sample". The factory will also do anything you want in leather for a price.
