so thomasC2 - you used a 993 Windshield and the OEm 2 Peice 993 Glue in Seal?
i was thinking of the 964 Windshield with the 993 Seal.
btw. the glass + install was 533.65 using a Sigla unit.
normally they are simple (i've done a bunch of them) my Car is really tight around the top edge so that the seal keeps popping out and does not get 100% in - basically they beat on it (open palmed) for 2 hours until it stressed out and broke.
its thier dime but i think i'll go with the 993 solution and see if that works better.

Yes, it' a full 993 kit. I learned about this from a UK guy here on the forum who works with auto glass. He also said that the 993 window is slightly bigger so it fits better and there will be no issues in the future with water leaks.

Wow, that's cool Thomas!
I think I might try that next time.
Cupcar#12, how and the hell did you get a sub-$600 deal on a 964 Windshield?? ...not to mention THREE of them!??

"Thomas" that looks just like mine, you have any problems with the fitment?
And "cupcar" who ever broke the 3 screens fitting them aint no auto glazier . Sounds to me like your your trying to fit the wrong glass/rubber mix into your car. Been there done that.
And thomas is bob on, a 993 screen fits pefectly in a 964.

My brother had a bent car , I could not get the front window to go in to save my life .
When I put the glass into the opening without the rubber , it was clear that the glass was never going to fit until the car got unbent .

They only broke 2 so far.
Using sigla glass and a new seal.
My car has always been a pain to put glass in.
They were playing Wak-a-mole with it.
Apparently there is another supplier they found that has glass even cheaper.

Now the big question will the 993 rear glass fit ?
I would kill to find a new rear glass with no third brake light in it !
The RS glass is available from Porsche but its around a grand plus installation. Only good thing is the Porsche doesn't charge shipping from Germany and if they break it, its their fault.

Yeah they made a 993 with no 3rd brake light.
You will need the glass which comes encap with the inner trim, outer trim and the inner trim.
I think i can get the glass for about £200, the outer trim is £40 and the inner is £60ish.
