Awsome congrats feels good doesnt it!!!
Ill try and remember some things that i wish i had done while i had it out but didnt.
1) you should go ahead and change power steering pump seals.
2) Check ALL hoses for cracking etc.
3) maybe have your injectors cleaned and flow tested.
4) make sure your intake manifold nuts are all tight....

Jerry thanks. It did feel great once we had her on the engine stand. This car is so different from the 3.2 Carrera engine drops we've done so I was a little apprehensive but it all worked out well. My friends were joking that I was the expecting father. I never would have done this without them.

Its nice everything in the open to address all the small nagging leaks. Power steering is one of them and the list of things I mentioned. I will also add those that you have advised.

Ahh, it wasn't so tough afterall; was it?

Congrats! (If I'd known you had that nice of a setup...not to mention a few more hands...) I would have thrown some girlie names at you if you hadn't done it...somebody should make a merit badge for this...

naaah, it was cake. The only problem I foresee is getting that throttle cable back in through the tube. Any tricks? In hindsight I would have attached string to it as I pulled the throttle cable through.

J Richard, no girlie names. I now feel like "a mans man"! Yeah, the garage setup is my friends. They all gave me the push down the slippery slope. Now I just need to remember where all these parts go during reassembly!

We (myself, Jeff Curtis, Forklift aka Jim Evans, and 2 others) removed and installed a newer motor in Jim's RSA on Saturday. I removed the throttle cable from the motor. It was no big deal. The connector is a little tricky, but the infamous "grommet" on the bracket was easy. The cable housing has small stop that goes into the grommet. If you pull that out first, the grommet pops out, and everything slides through the hole in the bracket.

Oh getting the cable back through the tube is a piece of cake... it just slides right in. BUt getting that grommet back into the bracket at the engine was the hard part.

I dunno Larry, I recall hearing a few grunts n' groans, not to mention I saw a bead of sweat on your forehead whilst snapping that grommet back in place.

Truth be told, I might give it a shot when I toss the "new" motor back in the car this weekend.
