Thanks to everyone who posted to this thread. It helped me to diagnose and fix my rear blower motor without buying the whole assembly. I was expecting to have to change the fan and was prepared to the place i ordered from shipped the motor with the fan already attached. https://www.carparts.com/blower-moto...00300?&vehicle[cylinders]=6&vehicle[liter]=3%2E6&vehicle[submodel]=Carrera_2&vehicle[model]=911&vehicle[make]=Porsche&vehicle[year]=1992
Question - in changing out the blower motor I noticed the rubber piece which attached the fan to the blower was showing it's age. Does anyone know how hard this is to repair? Part name/number?

Nice job.
Search for fan shroud, fan rubber cover or similar, and you'll find several threads on this topic. Loosen the three bolts and remove the torn rubber, spare part available at Porsche or elsewehere.
Cheers,
Tore

In case your rear blower motor harness melts like mine did, they are Mercedes part numbers per photos below.

I just replaced my motor over the weekend ( purchased a new Bosch motor for £69 all in ;-)
It was working fine but its now 30yrs old and 175K miles so I thought it due a replacement
Glad I did as the brushing had run out so it wouldn't have been long before it had died ..see photo of the old motor and new motor on the right ;-o
So perhaps don't wait for a "failure" noise to replace the motor

I purchased it few years ago and it was a direct fit, mine was sold by Amazon, I notice that the one they have now comes from a 3rd party - perhaps a different model.

Previous motor shaft bearing totally gone and for @£70 I asked RPM Technik (UK) to order one in for me to pick up and fit myself. Maybe you can do the same with a specialist near you?
