Mystery trunk bracket

Could someone advise what the circled brakcet is for in the trunk's passenger-side area, per attached pic?

Not certain, but in Europe there was an optional/separate tank for some kind of washer system. Possibly related?

You can never have too many spare alternator belts!

that's not for the extra washer tank, it higher up on the same side. I have these to, I think they are just "holes".

Those are mounting holes for the "Dual differential lock solenoid valve" used on the C4 (PDAS stuff).
