Held out as long as possible....Selling my '93 C2
Well, I didn't want it to come to this, but I am selling my 1993 near mint C2. Extensive details below. Price as is with all everything is $27500 firm. I am willing to remove any modifications for a decrease in price, however please do not ask to buy just the parts as I will not sell any unless the car is sold without something. Here is the details
General Details:
• 1993 Carrera 2 5spd Coupe
• Vin # WP0AB2960PS420390
• Midnight Blue on Tan Leather
• Only 41k original miles
History:
• Purchased mid ’93 by my step mom in Greenwich, CT (Her 4th 911)
• Garaged and maintained in East Hampton, NY
• From 0-about 30k miles, the car was garaged and generally used in
the summer only. Only required normal oil services and batteries.
• 1998, the car was involved in a minor accident (as noted in carfax) in
which ONLY the diver side mirror was broken off. No body panel or
piece of the chassis has been replaced or repaired ever.
• Approx 30k miles, the engine was removed for leaking valve seals.
At this time, the heads were removed and refreshed. Additionally, all
typical engine-out maintenance was performed including various new
oil seals, gaskets, timing chain tensioner, etc. The tires and clutch were also replaced which had deteriorated from non use.
• At about 30k miles, the brake pads, tires, and stereo were also replaced
• I purchased it at about 33k miles and drove it down to FL
• I immediately replaced the oil cooler fan and relay and a/c fan relay, as well as the oil cooler fan itself.
• Shortly after, the car underwent a high end repaint due to peeling
clearcoat (see pictures). During the paint, the lights, windows, trim,
seals, bumpers, etc were all removed to ensure no paint lines. 99
percent of the rubber body and window seals and trim where replaced
in addition to the front and rear emblems. RS style front brake ducts
where also added at this time
• At about 35k miles, I had KW Variant 3 coilovers installed with an
alignment to RS specs. At the same time, I had a set of Kinesis
Supercups refinished and installed
• At about 36k miles, I installed a primary muffler bypass and 911chips
stage 1 engine chip. Also replaced interior door levers and replaced
cassette dispenser with German storage pocket
• At about 38k miles, I changed the brake/clutch fluid to Motul RBF600
• Lastly, I just replaced the clutch slave cylinder and line
The car has never been in real accident (see history) and has driven flawlessly for the last 7k miles while I have owned it without a single hiccup. It has absolutely no known mechanical faults. With the exception of about one year before I bought it, the car as also been sheltered its entire life. Very rarely driven in the rain, and has no rust that I can detect. The car has also never been tracked or raced ever.
Condition: - The car is in extremely good condition and has only the
following minor notes:
• Faded tail lights. Driver side tail light internal seal as separated a little,
but looks ok and has been this way for years
• Minor wear on driver side seat bolster
• 17” tires are at about 40 percent tread (16”s near full thread)
• Brake caliper clear coat is coming off
• Minor cracking on dash behind gauge cluster.
Three hairline cracks, have not enlarged for years. They are narrow and not warped
• Minor 1” long scratch under driver door handle.
• Minor chip in paint(in picture link) at top forward corner of the rear bumper along
the passenger wheel well. Chip is about 1/8th inch wide or slightly more
• Speedo gauge face is a bit deteriorated, which is only noticeable at
night with back lighting
• Rating relative to other 964s: Interior – 9/10, exterior 9/10
Modifications:
• KW Variant 3 Double Adjustable Coilovers
• Kinesis Supercups (17x7.5, 17x9 with 225 front and 255 rear tires). Refinished Late '07.
• Stainless steel Primary muffler bypass pipe
• RS style brake ducts
• Steve Wong (911chips.com) performance chip (93 octane w/muffler
bypass). Slight difference in power, broader torque, more free reving, better gas mileage. Consistently get 21mpg city.
• Pioneer CD/MP3 head unit with ipod integration. Also has Bluetooth
capability, but only if you purchase the extra add on.
• Infiniti component speakers front/blaunkput rear
• Blinder laser jammer
• Hardwired Valentine 1 radar/laser detector
• German storage pocket. A cell phone size pocket that replaces the tape dispenser in the back of the center console
Other Items included:
• All OEM parts except radio including: 16” wheels and tires, primary
muffler, shocks and springs, fog lights, original ECU chip.
• Includes all original books and manual
• Porsche optional auxiliary battery trickle charger
• Extra window switch
• Porsche original wheel locks w/key and lightweight lug nuts
• 2 sets of Porsche original keys

I had a carfax as well, but the link expired, and I never downloaded it unfortunately.

This is how a car should be described when selling. Great job in describing the car. Best of luck with the sale. I do hope it stays local, but with the way the market is maybe another one of our friends in Europe will take it.
What a beauty!

Doesnt bother me one bit to post the pictures. There are just so many, that I figured a link would be easier. Those pictures really do not do the color justice, but shows that condition accurately. The car gets comments everywhere on the condition.
For anyone interested, there are a few great Porsche specialty places in the area capable of doing a quality PPI. If you end up purchasing the car, I will credit back the cost of the PPI.
Also, I mentioned that 99 percent of the seals and body trim have been replaced. The only exception I can think of is the rear window molding because I was sent one for a targa (which I still have if anyone wants to buy it). It was in perfectly good condition though, so the original one was reused.

A few months back I was speaking with one of the writers at Total 911 (i believe) in the UK about pricing over there. Pretty crazy difference.

Great description of a car and good luck with your sale. It is a wonderful color combo (I am somewhat biased based on my turbo) and the wheels look great.
FYI - I might have bought your car if you would have advertised it about 2 months earlier.

Thanks. I actually did put up a feeler thread about what to sell it for a couple months ago which drew a ton of interest from perspective buyers, however I was not quite ready to give it up at that time.
On a separate note, I decided to include the Valentine 1 at no extra cost.
