Hey there guys, just wanted to say hello and share my new toy with you. Picture is at the left with others on the way soon.

Overall, a very, very clean and well-kept C2 with only ~42K miles on it (more specs listed in 964 prices thread). I've always wanted a RS America, but at current prices a C2 makes more sense. Prior owner deceased and estate sold vehicle to local Porsche dealership (hence likely reason why the maintenance records, tool kit, and tire inflator were missing...probably back at the guy's house).

Dealer provided all maintenance records for service performed at their facility. Only major service identified was a new clutch within last 9 months. New set of tires (205s all around...so the rears will need to be replaced with correct sizes) on D-90 wheels with zero curb rash. Radio functions but OEM speakers need to be replaced (dry-rotted). Perfect leather interior and no worn spots on the carpets or Lloyds floor mats. Hood leading edge only reprayed at some point (rock chips? keyed?), but done to a very high level (was hard to identify)...rest of paint was perfect.

Drove the C2 from Kansas City back home to Charlotte, North Carolina with zero problems and a 25 MPG average fuel comsumption. Overall, a nice C2 that will now become a daily driver!

Plans for the C2 include:
- new 5.25" and 4"x6" speakers (DONE!)
- new hood shocks
- new Radio/CD unit (trying to decide which one)
- set of Cup 1 17" wheels b/c the current D90 16" wheels have 205s all around...and "Primewell" brand (who are they?!?!?) tires!
- cat test pipe off e-Bay (DONE!)
- updated chip
- cone filter or spare air box lid to open-up
- RSA rear tail
- springs & shocks
- Driver's Ed events

Looking for:- C2 Owners Manuals
- C2/4 OEM tool kit

Any other modifications I should consider? Really want this to be a fun driver, but I also don't want a car set up too firm for daily commute or for use w/ wife and kids.

Yes, it's a '90 model year...and the flag mirrors are another thing to add to my list! The market must be soft right now as I picked it up for $22.5K. Car is ultra clean and appears to have been a weekend-only car since the early-mid '90s.

Lowering is essential, though it looks slightly lowered . . . ?
Clear front lights look great, IMO, too.

Thanks guys. I think the angle of the picture makes it look lower than it actually is...or perhaps the original springs have settled over the last 18 years?

Speaking of the flag mirrors, since I don't have an owner's manual (yet), how do you adjust the passenger side mirror? I've used the button on the driver's side door to adjust the driver's side mirror, but what's the trick to operating the passenger side one?

There's a rocker switch under the instrument cluster that you use to switch mirror control from one side to the other.

Don't get it mixed up with the Clock!! or you'll have to go ALL the way around....yawn

yep, market is very soft and will go a little lower. I think 993s will be availble in mid 20's soon. Lowest one here was 28 a few weesk ago, but they are not selling

Not a bad price from a dealer and a very nice example.

I would suggest replacing the rear window with a Euro version without the brake light which blocks your view and put a later 993 brake light on top of window. Works great.

Ahhh...so now I know what that switch does...thought it was part of the clock time set function but it makes sense that it switches the mirror switch from side-to-side...thanks!

Well, I've wanted a RSA since I sat in a new one on the showroom floor as I was graduating college back in the early '90s...but had to "settle" for the 16V GTI that I bought instead (fun car, but not a Porsche). Over time I owned a couple of 951s and then went the BMW & Mercedes route for a long time. But, the RSA was still calling out to me 15 years later...yet the current RSA prices just don't make sense (yeah, I know its a rare car) at 2x the money for the same basic car as a C2. So I gave some thought to the newer 993, but since this was the last air cooled version of the 911 series, values have stopped depreciating and held ground in the very high $20's and mostly low/mid $30s. With a current stable of 4 cars (2 daily drivers and 2 toys), my new "daily driver" budget needed to stay around mid $20's. Also I needed rear seating capacity for my two little boys to ride with me at times, so I found myself looking for non-RSA 964 coupes. My hope is that the 964 starts to see some appreciation over the next couple of years like what we are seeing happen to the end of the 911 Carrera 3.2 series ('89 & older) do right now. The 964 feels like the overlooked air-cooled car right now...

Completely agree with you on the 3rd brakelight blocking my rear vision!!! At almost 6' tall, the location of that light is so aggravating for me...I looked at pulling it off, but the glass is obviously set-up to incorporate the light so I thought I was stuck with it. Wasn't aware there was a Euro glass version...who would carry this part? Or does it swap out with the earlier 911 glass?

Also I've heard that I can lower the seating position mounting points to gain 1 - 1.5" more headroom? Details or a link?

weel I think you paid too much!! I just sold 90 with factory aircompressor factory manulas and book records, non respayed at all like yours all original perfect paint perfect interior all options!! splid differential , some leaks and other littles 136kmiles I sold it for 16k$, you can get a 993 95 for 20k right now !!there is one 993 95 coupe green locally with85k for 18.5k! the good thing is you are happy thats good but with the economy rightnow and new models all the price for 964 s and 993 s will keep comming down a little more !!
