Post Fuel injector refurbishment

Just got my injectors back from Witchhunter along with their before/after report, below.
Thought some would find this stuff interesting.

I was a little surprised at the variances. (The numbers guy in me is excited by now having 'balanced' injector flows. It's a guy thing, I know.)

They went out USPS on Monday. Got them back today (Sat). All the removed guts and pieces are returned in a separate bag.

I believe the injectors are originals, and had most of their gas from CA & WA gas stations, the car's been DE'd, and it's now 100k miles & 15 years old.

If wanted, I can post before and after pictures, but they're pretty much exactly what you see at the Witchhunter site. (Your injectors look like the "Bosch top feed" pictured top of the web page, on that link, above.)

They bead blast off the black paint on the injector body during the refurb, so now I'll respray it -- silver!

I agree, the numbers are interesting. Here are mine at just shy of 17 yrs and 60k miles for comparative purposes.

And mine a year or so ago...

I think everyone with a 964 ought to do this service considering how old our cars are, and how crucial proper fuel delivery is to performance.

Actually, they ultrasonic clean them which removes the paint.

Geoffrey, they say they bead blast on this page.

But I get your gist.

They probably blast 'em purely for cosmetic reasons: ultrasonic may do such a number on the original paint -- that sending back injectors w/ a tattered, beat up paint job ain't the best way to make a happy customer!

Garrett, finn -- Where do think I got this idea? -- You guys!
Thanks for your past postings on this for lighting a slow fire under my ***...ignment.

Attached is an xls spreadsheet with the numbers. A bit more work than it's worth, actually!

If you save the file with the name Injectors.xls you'll be able to open it in Excel and see two sheets. Sheet 1: results as posted. Sheet 2: column format for easier comparison. With averages.

Cheers,
Dave
