Well, I now have a floor with piping for in-floor heat and 10" thick 2-post lift pads.

Electrical wiring started today too.

Not sure what the rules are there but here in Ontario code says AC outlets have to be 4' off the ground minimum in a garage. Those outlets (i.e. if they're AC) at the bottom look a little low but maybe the fact that one could probably live in your garage negates this fact?

Bill,

18" min in AB so the uppers are at 4' while the lowers are at 2'

Yup, lots of progress.

Roofing is done, the stairs are in, the wiring, and the insulation are done (the gap in the back wall is for an exhaust fan), and the wallboard (5/8" sheetrock) is started. Siding is going on the outside and the OHD is on order to be installed (hopefully) later this week.

There is blocking in the walls for a large screen TV and air/electrical lines. Wires from the ceiling are for lights, ceiling fans, and speakers.

More of the upstairs 500 sq. ft. store room (unheated, OSB on the walls for dent resistance).

Probably to late but the best investment in my garage as it turns out was my central vacuum system.

Finally -- Shingles! Siding, Windows. ("-- come on, thunderstorms!")
Insulation! ("-- come on, Fall!")

Now things can proceed at your discretion, not the weather's. Nice.

So, Marc -- you've got a pile of dirt, now, in the back yard.
You gonna throw some seed on it and call it an 'ornamental landscaping addition'?
[what I'd probably do. gag-name it, Mt. Porsche, or the like.]

I thought about it but figured it would be a pest if I managed to clog it and the pipes were inside the walls so I plan to get one of these.

Thanks for the compliments - I am happy it is coming together well, if not slowly.

The dirt pile will be flattened to build up our lot and we'll assemble a swing-set for my 5 year old.

A few more update pictures:

-exhaust fan installed
-siding done
-wallboard on
-mudded & plastered
-painted
-most outlets done and speakers in the ceiling.

Waiting on front OHD (custom build), 6-bulb T5 lights (special order) as well as for the electrician to install the outside lights.

Next the plumber will hook up the water supply and setup the in floor heat.

Man, that's just gonna be sweet. All the electrical outlets crack me up though, they're everywhere!
