Default One question about GT2 Evo uprights

Hi Rennlisters!
I have some issues with bump-steer on my C4 after my last brake upgrade (to RS spec.).
Bill Verburg said that EVO uprights can be used on 964 damper (I have HR supercup), but my question is: can be EVO uprights used on a C4?
What parts I need to make that modification? I would keep the ABS standard.

Thanks in advance

Paolo

Evo uprights require a 993 damper, and will not work with a 964 damper.

Geoffrey,
naturally I think higly of your knowledge
but on another forum I find this:

The 964t 3.3 upright appears to be 18.3mm also. So indeed the 964 strut should work. Though in the case of the the 3.3t and the c2, the lowest bolt hole would have to be enlarged to 14mm.

The 964t 3.6 strut should work with the EVO upright as is.

Guess the mystery is solved. 993 struts do not look to be required for the EVO upright.

But the very question is : can I use the EVO uprights on a C4?

I measured the 993 upright mounting spine and the RS mounting spine @~18.3mm

Kris Urquhart(sp?) measured his steel 964 @17.95 to 18.15mm and then mounted a set of RS uprights on his 964 struts, the only issue was the lower bolt which is 12mm on 964 and 14mm on 993.

additionally 993ball joints & EVO tie rods are used

he is using an AP rotor & hat but 993RS/tt rotors w/ Big red calipers will also work

Interesting. When I tried to put my 964 M030 struts on my GT2 EVO uprights, they would not physically fit over the the aluminum GT2 Evo uprights. When I measured them they were 1mm different (18 vs 19mm if I recall correctly).

It's obvious that the aluminum uprights are thicker, I wasn't present at the fitting so can't comment on how it went. Kris reports that it was a straight bolt on except for the lower bolt
