Default BP

I switched from Mobile 1 to BP 20W-50 racing oil last year. Grab a six pack and read the oil threads on Pelican......more info than you'll ever need but very informative.

Personally, I'm planing on switching to Redline. I haven't heard much bad, it's a group V base (ester) with plenty of wear additives, and some of the highest HTHS ratings I've seen. I'd use Swepco without worry as well, although it's a group IV base.

I prefer a synthetic in everything, particularly in turbos and engines that get really hot. I talked to one of Redline's engineers, who happens to be a Porsche guy himself. He wrote, "I just today received the latest chemical composition for the motor oil from our chemist. The phosphorus is 1100ppm and the zinc is 1230ppm. Still sufficient levels for good flat tappet cam shaft protection." That was good enough for me. Several guys here who track cars use Redline. They're harder on oil than I ever will be.
I use the 10W-40.

I've got 12 quarts of 15w-50, but after talking with Redline, I'm tempted to get 6 quarts of 10w-40 and blend 50-50.

As far as Brad Penn gose, I'd also rather run a full syn such as Redline.

I, like many others in this thread, am running BP 20w-50. My car didn't leak/use much oil at all to begin with (maybe a quart every 2k miles) so I can't report much change on that front. I do however subjectively feel better with it in - she told me she likes it better than the old Mobil 1

No intention of hijack, but if there is no Brad Penn oil available here, would M1 be the next "best" alternative.

In the united states mobil one was redone for the new rules .
Its not as good as the old mobil one .
Here if you add some motorcycle mobil one to the new car type mobil one , you get some good old mobil one .

The mobil one in Brunei may be the old good mobil one or it may be the new not as good , you will need to find out whats for sale there .
