I haven't seen one for the master(of course, I need one) but here is a pretty good one on the slave. https://rennlist.com/forums/diy-964-1989-1994-911/197959-clutch-slave-cylinder-replacement-tips-that-can-save-you.html Only trick I can give you is to replace the slave line at the same time, and screw the line to the slave out of the car, and then install both as a unit.

d964, the fluid in mine looks black every time, and I change fluid all the time.

That sounds easier than the master, so I guess I'll just start with that. Please post after you do the master.

Clutch before brakes or brakes before clutch?

I always do brakes first, just because I figured that by the time I do the clutch, I know the fluid is clean. Loot, I'll let you know after I do the master, that should be this week.

I think this one covers the slave:

Master just hangs out with the pedal, no?

Yes, the clutch master is attached directly to the pedal assembly.

Re: Master: Yup -- that she does!

And Re: that link: Ah, yes -- Garrett & Jason... like taking pointers from Gehrig and DiMaggio. Good referral.

Got the master replaced last night, but haven't bled it yet, so I can't say if it helped yet. What i can say is the best advice I have if you are going to do that, you should be approxamitly the size and shape of an elementary school gymnast. Crappy job, and very messy. I think the way to go would be to try and clamp off the feed line into the master, and just catch the rest.

FYI -- bleeder nipple on the slave uses a 7mm wrench.

The turbo slave looks a lot different that the NA slave. Anyone know if the job on a Turbo is much different than the NA? The Turbo guys aren't answering...I don't think many of them work on their own cars.

I take offense to that. I'm picking up my Motive today and will be doing all this myself in the near future...not to mention turbo, headers, new interior, suspension, brakes, adjustable WUR install, etc. etc.

Half the fun of my car is tearing it apart to learn how it works.

You're an exception. I think the 3.3 people work on their cars more than the 3.6 people. Since the 3.3 is a hybrid, we're on the 964, 964 Turbo, and 911 Turbo boards, whereas the 3.6 people tend to stick to that one board and it doesn't seem like they work on, or drive, their cars much.

I was joking about being offended. People who claim to be car guys then write a check don't impress me. Now certainly there are limits to what I can do (mostly do to tools) but I will try most anything before taking it to a shop. Many of the "expert" shops don't know any more than I do (with the help of this board). I'd like to see the local Porsche dealer work on these cars.

930 guys def seem to tinker more.

I have to read the 964, 993, 930, 964t, and 993t boards just to be sure I don't miss anything!
