Panels - do I need these?

I don't have the undertray on. Do I really need these panels, aren't they just for noice reduction together with the undertray? I mostly use the car on track.

yeah, the cat heat shield is still there but aren't these panels more for sound than heat?
Will there be any problems running without these? All you guys who track your cars, do you still have these panels in place?

I have seen a Porsche resprayed with cheap paint. Heat from the exhaust blistered the paint on the rear bumpers. The factory paint seems to tolerate the heat pretty well.

I don't feel any heat at the rear of the car....the bumper stays cool to the touch...I imagine if you ran the "suitcase" muffler and cat you could heat things up back there...In that case, I'd leave them on.

Mine are gone, but so are the cat and primary muffler. No heat problems so far and most of my car's use these days is on the track. My car doesn't radiate near as much heat from the rear ever since the cat was removed. With no undertray, no cat, everything seems cooler back there.
